Many candidates create additional reference materials such as indexes and summaries. Candidates must independently study and learn this material to prepare for the exam. These materials are approximately 1000 pages in length, and contain all the information required to pass the exam. The exams also test the three levels of cognitive ability: knowledge/comprehension, application of knowledge, and critical thinking.Ĭandidates who registered to write the Paralegal Licensing Examination will receive study materials from the LSO approximately 6 to 8 weeks before their exam. ![]() The exam questions are presented as individual and case-based questions designed to assess a candidate’s competence in a variety of subject areas, including Canadian law, civil litigation, criminal/quasi-criminal law, administrative law, litigation process, ADR, practice management, and ethical and professional responsibility.
